Cookie Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. Browsers also offer localStorage and sessionStorage, which do a similar job. This policy covers all three on crashola.com.
2. What We Store Today
No cookies at all, and exactly one item of browser storage. There is no consent banner because there is nothing here that needs consent.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
crashola.run |
sessionStorage | The identifier of the run you are playing, so that reloading the page puts you back on the ramp instead of throwing the run away. It is a random identifier generated by our server. It is not an account, it is not linked to you, and it means nothing once the run has ended. | Until you close the tab |
That is the complete list. When sign-in exists, this page will gain a row for the sign-in token and, if you play as a guest, one for a device identifier, each with its purpose and lifetime named here on the day it ships.
3. What We Will Never Use
We do not use, and will not add:
- Third-party cookies of any kind
- Google Analytics or any analytics cookies
- Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any advertising or marketing cookies
- Tracking pixels or web beacons
- Browser fingerprinting
- Cross-site or cross-app tracking
- Retargeting or remarketing cookies
- Social media cookies or embeds
We believe in privacy by design. If we do not need it, we do not collect it.
4. Strictly Essential Only
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), Regulation 6(4), strictly necessary cookies and storage are exempt from the consent requirement. Everything we store falls under that exemption: without the run identifier above, reloading the page would discard the run you are in the middle of. There is nothing optional to opt out of.
5. Fonts
This page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com to fetch them. Google receives that request, including your IP address, and sets no cookie for it. That is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
6. Payment Processing
If you make a purchase, our shop and payment processor may set their own cookies or identifiers during checkout. Those are governed by their own policies and are not controlled by us.
7. Managing Your Storage
You can clear cookies and storage at any time through your browser's "Clear site data" setting, or inspect them in its developer tools (usually F12, then Application, then Storage). Clearing them mid-run will lose your place in that run, and will sign you out once sign-in exists. You can always see exactly what is stored: there are no hidden values.
