CRASHOLA The show

Pull the chute, or wipe out.

A 1970s daredevil stunt show as a roguelike. Twist the throttle and the jump gets longer. Bank the distance you reached, or hold on and keep climbing with nothing underneath you.

One decision, made unbearable

The crash point is fixed before the jump starts, server side, and never reacts to what you do. The only input that matters is when you let go.

1

The ramp

Every jump has a distance to beat and a handful of attempts to beat it with.

2

The throttle

Distance climbs on a curve that was already decided. Nothing you do bends it.

3

The chute

Pull it and you bank what you reached. Hold too long and you bank nothing.

The rival is the game

Two riders, the same jump, the same seed. The crash point is identical for both of you, so there is nothing left to blame.

Bail first

You land safe. You have also just told your rival the exact number they need.

Hold on

You keep what you know to yourself. There is no floor under you while you do.

The flag

When your rival bails, a flag goes in the dirt at their distance. You are still in the air, and you have to clear it.

Losing is the funny part

Relics change what a run is for. The good ones argue with each other, and one of them pays you for crashing.

Floor

Nothing ever banks below a minimum.

Nerve

Every attempt you ride out raises the ceiling.

Ratchet

What you banked becomes where the next jump starts.

Scar

Wipeouts are worth something at the end of the run. Now the question is when you want to crash.

Eight shows

Each rival sabotages the jump rather than fighting you. The last one does not need to.

  1. 1Dusty DupreeCaps the distance
  2. 2Smilin' Jack ValloneKills the readout. Fly blind
  3. 3Sister MercyChute locked for the first beat
  4. 4Mama LorraineEvery even attempt is rigged

  6. 6Ramona RocketYour banked distance decays while you watch
  7. 7The PromoterAlways bails first. Always plants a flag
  8. 8THE CANYONNo rival. Just the canyon

Not a gambling game

No bet, no bankroll, no cash out, and nothing in a run you could mistake for money. Paying unlocks more of the show, never an easier one, and the gate always offers a way out that still banks your score.
